Programme Postponed

The Contemporary Intensive Programme will resume as soon as the Covid-19 restrictions on public gatherings and physical distancing have been lifted.  Our first priority is the health and wellbeing of  dance students, scholars & associates as well as the School’s staff.  Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram feeds for updates on the CIP in the coming months.

For dancers aged 16 – 18 years, with a sound knowledge of contemporary dance and interest in dance as a career. The contemporary intensive programme is for dancers who wish to:

  • Establish a solid technical foundtation
  • Learn key aspects of the contemporary discipline such as improvisation, contact, partnering and composition
  • Learn from tertiary tutors to gain an insight into NZSD’s unique contemporary dance training
  • Deepen thier understanding of the industry and discover the requirements for ful-time training

The programme runs over a weekend, and each day kicks-off with a technique class taught by a member of the New Zealand School of Dance faculty. Only three CIP events are held per year – book your spot early to avoid disappointment.
