As an awarded graduate of the NZSD, Caroline has worked in New Zealand and abroad for a number of choreographers including Douglas Wright, Michael Parmenter, Shona McCullagh, Ann Dewey, Paul Jenden, Lyne Pringle, Lisa Densem, Claire O’Neil and Mary-Jane O’Reilly.

 

Receiving a CNZ grant, Caroline travelled to New York performing with Avila/Weeks Dance(USA) and Barak Marshall (Israel/USA); then Europe dancing for X-group (under Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Belgium), Els Soutaart (Belgium), Company Paulo Ribeiro (Portugal) and on a dance WEB scholarship at ImPulsTanz (Vienna).

 

With a passion for dance film, Caroline gained a degree in Broadcasting Communications and worked in the film industry for five years whilst teaching dance and creating dance films. During this time, she directed TV commercials as was nominated for the Australian ‘AWARDS’ awards for her directing and editing of the 2005 Amnesty International TV campaign. Caroline has been working with dance and film for the past 20-years as camera operator, film director and editor on numerous short films, digital content projects and live performance.

 

Caroline has been with The New Zealand Dance Company since its inception in 2012. She has taken on the roles of artistic manager, tour manager, rehearsal director, videographer, graphic designer, photographer and interim Chief Executive.

 

Caroline in currently in developingan innovative and unique interactive VR dance film, wherethe viewer is immersed inside the dance itself. This exploration continues her passionfor multi-media collaborations and the intersection between moving image anddance.
