Rench Soriano was born in Bacolod City, Philippines. He started dancing when he was nine, studying hip-hop. He began his ballet training when he was 10, with Dance Pull School of Performing Arts, directed by Dwight Rodrigazo.
In 2017, at the age of 16, Rench won the Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition in Hong Kong. As a consequence, he received a comprehensive scholarship to study full-time at the New Zealand School of Dance, where he graduated in December 2019.
In 2018,Rench took top honours at the 6th Beijing International Ballet Competition and the Sir John Logan Campbell Ballet Award, in Auckland. His repertoire includes Don Quixote, Diana and Actaeon, La Sylphide, Flames of Paris, Grand Pas Classique, David Fernandez’s Five Variations on a Theme, Helgi Tomasson’s Handel – a Celebration and George Balanchine’s Tarantella and Tschaikovsky Pas de Deux.
In 2019, Rench won first place and garnered the Audience Choice Award at the prestigious Alana Haines Australasian Ballet Awards, held in Wellington. In the same year, he also received a full tuition scholarship to join San Francisco Ballet School’s Summer Program.
Rench Soriano joined Houston Ballet as a Demi Soloist from The Washington Ballet Studio Company.
