Development Manager (part-time 30 hours)

This position manages our fundraising and sponsorship activities.

The School

The New Zealand School of Dance is one of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading tertiary dance training institutions, preparing students for professional careers in classical ballet and contemporary dance.  We receive government funding but also seek additional income to meet funding shortfalls, provide scholarships and valuable performance opportunities for students, and enable us to acquire equipment and operate programmes that nurture talent in the community.

The Role

We are seeking a part-time Development Manager to manage our fundraising and sponsorship activities.  This position liaises closely with the Marketing and Communication team, Administration team and Artistic staff.


Our ideal candidate is an energetic person with an interest in dance or the creative arts who is keen to further develop the School’s existing donor programme, write effective applications for grants and sponsorships and connect with existing and prospective donors through events and donor communications.  You should have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, be self-motivated and able to work independently.  Experience in fundraising is desirable.
