Contemporary Intensive Programme – Christchurch

The Christchurch CIP – Saturday 14 September @ Visionary Dance Studio – 9am – 4pm
Cost: $150.00 –
Includes one ticket to the NZSD Dance Film night on Wednesday 11 September. 

For dancers aged 15 – 18 years, with a sound knowledge of contemporary dance and interest in dance as a career. The contemporary intensive programme is for dancers who wish to:

  • Establish a solid technical foundation
  • Learn key aspects of the contemporary discipline, such as improvisation, contact, partnering and composition
  • Learn from tertiary tutors to gain insight into NZSD’s unique contemporary dance training
  • Deepen your understanding of the industry and discover the requirements for full-time training

The programme runs over a full day, and the members of the New Zealand School of Dance faculty teach all elements of the programme.

  • Focus on choreography for Pacific Dance Festival and mask/character work
  • See how it was made and learn the Rep.
  • Gain insight into what NZSD is all about with our Q&A.
  • Includes one ticket to the NZSD Dance Film night on Wednesday, 11 September.

Includes one ticket to Pacific Dance Festival, Moana Show on Saturday, June 15. 

For dancers aged 15 – 18 years, with a sound knowledge of contemporary dance and interest in dance as a career. The contemporary intensive programme is for dancers who wish to:

Includes one ticket to NZSD’s Choreographic Season (10 – 17 May)

For dancers aged 15 – 18 years, with a sound knowledge of contemporary dance and interest in dance as a career. The contemporary intensive programme is for dancers who wish to:

  • Establish a solid technical foundation
  • Learn key aspects of the contemporary discipline, such as improvisation, contact, partnering and composition
  • Learn from tertiary tutors to gain insight into NZSD’s unique contemporary dance training
  • Deepen your understanding of the industry and discover the requirements for full-time training

The programme runs over a full day, and the members of the New Zealand School of Dance faculty teach all elements of the programme.

  • Focus on your own choreography and how to task your ideas to develop and create choreography
  • Learn and hear from NZSD third years on how they created and developed their own works and the collaboration that went into the season
  • Come and see the works in performance
  • Gain an insight into what NZSD is all about with our Q&A.
  • Includes one ticket to NZSD’s Choreographic Season (10 – 17 May)
